Westbound traffic near Interstate 4 and Highway 27 is completely stopped due to the crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports a multi-injury crash currently closing westbound Interstate 4 at mile marker 55. This will be near the Highway 27 exit.

At this time, 4:15 p.m., they closed all westbound lanes for a medical helicopter evacuation.

The accident occurred at approximately 15:50. There are currently 3 Polk County ambulances and 3 fire trucks on the scene.

This is a FHP call again and we don’t think we will get more details unless it is fatal. We will update if more information becomes available.
