Protesters interrupted Netanyahu’s speech at an event honoring the victims of October 7

RAMAT HASHARON, Israel — Protesters disrupted Israeli Prime Minister’s speech Benjamin Netanyahu at a ceremony on Sunday to remember the victims of a Hamas attack in southern Israel last year.

People shouted “Shame on you” and caused a disturbance, forcing Netanyahu to stop his speech shortly after it began. The main commemorative event is broadcast live throughout the country.

Many Israelis blame Netanyahu for the failures that led to Hamas attack October 7, 2023 and hold him responsible for his failure to return home the remaining hostages held by the militant group in Gaza.

A truck crashed into a bus stop near the Israeli city of Tel Aviv, injuring 35 people, emergency services said.

Israeli police described it as an attack and said the attacker was an Arab citizen of Israel. The ramming took place near the headquarters of the Israeli intelligence service Mossad.
