Three people seriously injured in three-vehicle crash on I-25 near Castle Rock

CASTLE ROCK, Colorado. The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 25 near Castle Rock that seriously injured three people Saturday night.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes south of Castle Rock.

According to police, one of the cars may have been making a U-turn and was hit in the forehead.

One driver had to be pulled from the vehicle and airlifted to hospital.

Two other people in the second car, the driver and a passenger, were taken by ambulance to the hospital.

All three were seriously injured, police said. Their current condition is unknown.

The driver of the third car was not injured.

The investigation into the crash led to an hours-long closure of I-25. It has since reopened.
