Prabha Arun Kumar: Police are offering $1 million reward for information leading to solving 10-year-old murder case

Members of the public have been asked to provide information about the unsolved murder and possibly match a $1 million reward police are now offering.

A reward has been announced to help detectives solve the murder of a woman as she walked home in Western Sydney almost 10 years ago.

Prabha Arun Kumar, 31, was walking home at about 9.30pm on Saturday March 7, 2015, after catching a train to Parramatta train station on her way home from work in Rhodes.

While talking to her husband on the phone while walking home, she was stabbed in a Parramatta park.

Emergency services arrived but were unable to save Prabha and she died from her injuries.

A crime scene was established and Strike Force Marcoala was formed to investigate the murder.

A year later, in 2016, on what would have been Prabha’s 42nd birthday, her husband Arun told 7NEWS that he missed his wife dearly.

“She was very caring… and loving,” he said.

“I really miss my wife.”

Now, almost 10 years later, NSW Police are appealing for new information about the murder.

“During the course of the investigation, strike force detectives conducted several inquiries and made several appeals to the public for information; however, the case remains unsolved,” they said on Monday.
