These Californians Are The New Lottery Millionaires – Look Where They Bought Their Tickets

Four very lucky people became new millionaires thanks to California Lottery.

For the lot’s biggest winner, Donald Simon, a trip to the landfill changed his life.

On his way to the dump to get rid of his junk, Simon stopped at My Good Market on Country Club Boulevard in Stockton and won the top prize in an instant prize crossword puzzle game. That $20 ticket turned into $2 million.

“At first I thought I won $2,000. In fact, when I got home, I told my wife that she would get half if she went and cashed them out,” Simon told lottery officials. “I’ve been trying to win for a long time.”

Simon told the California Lottery that the most he had previously won from scratchers was $2,000. He usually always invests everything he wins into new games.

“I won’t let this slow me down. I have scratches all over my front seat right now,” he said.

The owner of My Good Market also receives a $10,000 bonus for selling a lucky ticket.

Three Southern California residents also recently hit some big jackpots.

Mustan Mahmud won $5 million, the top prize in the 100X Scratchers game. He picked up his winning ticket at the Kims Mobil station on Manchester Avenue in Los Angeles.

In Temecula, Regino Meza took home $1 million from a Multiplier Craze scratcher purchased at the Chevron store on Temecula Parkway.

Rounding out the last group of millionaires is Audrey Palacios De La Hoya. She won $1 million in the $1 million Ultimate Cash Scratchers game. She bought the ticket at Stater Bros on Greenspot Road in Highland, San Bernardino County.
