Premier League: Van Dijk delivers verdict on Arsenal’s title race after Liverpool’s 2-2 draw

Liverpool defender Vigil van Dijk has refused to rule Arsenal out of the Premier League title race after the Gunners drew 2-2 with the Reds.

Let us remember that goals from Bukayo Saka, Van Dijk, Mikel Merino and Mohamed Salah provided both teams with a point at the Emirates Stadium.

As a result, Liverpool are in second position with 22 points from 9 games, while Arsenal are in third position with 18 points from the same number of matches.

Both teams are behind leaders Manchester City, who have 23 points.

Speaking after the game, Van Dijk believes Mikel Arteta’s side are not out of title contention at the moment.

“Manchester City lost here and they won the league… I read a lot about Arsenal being out of the title race if they lose,” Van Dijk said, via Fabrizio Romano.

“We’re in a business where you can be on top one week and then not… just enjoy the ride.”
