Fire rescuers in Palestrina: five rescued, two hospitalized

Five people were rescued, two of them taken to hospital by firefighters who responded to a fire that broke out last night at 21:20 in an apartment on the ground floor of a building in Via Veroli in the municipality of Palestrina. , near Rome. Among those rescued were two disabled people: a 58-year-old man and an 84-year-old woman, who were intoxicated due to thick smoke. After being taken into the care of 118 medical workers, they were immediately taken to the nearest hospital under a code red. The apartment was declared uninhabited after the fire was extinguished.
