Safari Rally driver Maxine Wahome’s mother, Beverly Wahome, took the stand on Wednesday in the trial where her daughter is accused of murdering her ex-boyfriend Asad Khan.

Maxine was arrested on December 12, 2022, at an apartment in Kilimani, Nairobi, after she allegedly attacked and seriously injured her boyfriend, Asad Khan, who later died from his injuries at a city hospital.

During her testimony, Beverly described a disturbing video call to her daughter urgently asking for help the night of the incident.

Wahome’s mother, questioned by prosecutor Roselyn Thum, told how she witnessed the chaotic scene unfold in real time, including seeing Khan bleeding as her daughter urged her to call police to come to her aid.

“Maxine’s mother told the court during questioning by prosecutor Ms Roselyn Thum that she was able to witness in real time what was happening at her daughter’s location, including Asad Khan’s bleeding,” the Office of the Director of Police said. . This is stated in the statement of the prosecutor’s office regarding X.

The case is scheduled to resume on January 20, 2025, with additional hearings scheduled for January 21, 22 and 23 as both sides prepare to present their arguments.

Previous witnesses testified that Maxine and the deceased often had disagreements and fought from time to time.
