Timothée Chalamet will channel Bob Dylan in upcoming film biographical film about the legendary singer-songwriter, and in a new teaser for the film released Tuesday (October 29), the actor performs Dylan’s “Subterranean Homesick Blues.”

The nearly two-minute clip features Chalamet singing the politically charged 1965 hit over an old-school movie vignette that includes scenes from the upcoming film. Additionally, Chalamet recreates portions of “Subterranean Homesick Blues.” music videoin which he holds cards with song lyrics.

Earlier this year fans Chalamet first spotted filming as Dylan in New York. Director James Mangold previously confirmed that the actor will star in his own singing for the film, which will hit theaters this December. “This is such an amazing time in American culture,” the director noted at the time. “The story of young 19-year-old Bob Dylan, who came to New York with about two dollars in his pocket and within three years became a world sensation – first he was accepted into the family of folk music in New York, and then … of course, in some that moment he is ahead of them as his star rises so incredibly.” To get ready, Wonka the star says he sifted costs 12 hours unreleased Dylan songs sent to him by the musician’s longtime manager and Complete unknown Produced by Jeff Rosen.

A biographical drama inspired by Elijah Wald’s 2015 book, it also stars Boyd Holbrook, Dan Fogler, Norbert Leo Butz and Scoot McNairy. Dylan goes electric. Last year, Mangold revealed that the “Blowin’ in the Wind” singer personally gave feedback according to the script.
