Hampden man pleads guilty to possession of child pornography

HAMPDEN, Maine (WABI) – A Hampden man has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.

The Justice Department says Homeland Security investigators and state police searched the home of 66-year-old Michael King last May.

When King was questioned by agents, he admitted to storing child sexual abuse material and told agents where his laptop could be found, authorities said.

They say the laptop was confiscated and hundreds of images were discovered.

King was previously convicted in Kennebec County in 2017 of possessing sexually explicit material depicting children.

In both cases we are talking about images of children under the age of 12 years.

King faces up to 20 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000 if convicted.
