Rhinelander PD announces winter parking restrictions will return next month

RHINELANDER, Wis. (WSAW) – The Rhinelander Police Department announced that winter parking rules will go into effect on November 15 for city residents.

The public is asked to respect the regulations in order to help the Public Works Department in its snow removal and street maintenance efforts. The fine for a parking violation is $25.

The regulations will be in effect until April 15 and will require that no vehicle be permitted to park on any street, city-maintained alley or unmetered public parking lot between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.

At all other times, vehicles must be parked as follows:

From 6 a.m. on even-numbered days until 2 a.m., vehicles must be parked on the street side at even-numbered addresses.

From 6 a.m. on odd-numbered days until 2 a.m., vehicles must be parked on the street side at odd-numbered addresses.

The police department is authorized to move illegally parked vehicles to other locations and may charge the cost to the vehicle owner.

The following streets are exempt from odd and even parking requirements:

  • Baird Avenue, from Court Park to Dahl Street
  • Court Park, Oneida Avenue to Baird Avenue
  • Oneida Avenue, Court Park to Dahl Street
  • Dahl Street, from Oneida Avenue to Baird Avenue
  • Keenan Street, beginning at its intersection with Kemp Street and running north 100 feet.
