Police search for Jake Bradford uncovers suspected human remains near Dollar

Suspected human remains have been discovered in the regional Victorian town of Dollar as part of a missing persons investigation.

Victoria Police detectives discovered the suspicious remains on Tuesday while searching remote Dollar bushland, southeast of Leongatha, Gippsland.

Authorities said the discovery was made as part of the ongoing investigation into the suspicious disappearance of Rosebud man Jake Bradford in January of last year.

Detectives from the Missing Persons Squad, Major Crime Scene Unit and specialists from the Victorian Institute of Forensic Pathology visited the area today.

The coroner has been informed and an autopsy will take place at a later date.

Mr Bradford, 21, was reported missing by his mother on January 29, 2023.

Police believe the 21-year-old man was last seen when he was involved in an altercation in the Dollar area on or about January 24, 2023.

In March last year, a 25-year-old Korumburra man was charged with Mr Bradford’s murder.

He is expected to appear in the Victorian Supreme Court in February next year.

More to come.
