Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: FMCG Stocks Down as Sensex Falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks ended lower on Thursday with Euro India Fresh Foods Ltd. (up 6.95%), ADF Foods Ltd. (up 3.97%), Hatsun Agro Products Ltd. (up 3.81%), Dodla Dairy Ltd. (up 3.34%), LT Foods Ltd. (up 2.21%), Mrs. Bectors Food Specialities Ltd. (up 1.66%), Parag Milk Foods Ltd. (up 1.52%), Sheetal Cool Products Ltd. (up 0.97%), Prataap Snacks Ltd. (up 0.92%) and Zydus Wellness Ltd. (up 0.88%) among the top gainers.

Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (down 1.69%), Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd. (down 1.37%), Heritage Foods Ltd. (down 1.18%), Umang Dairies Ltd. (down 1.17%), Colgate-Palmolive(India) Ltd. (down 1.11%), Patanjali Foods Ltd. (down 1.02%), Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd. (down 0.97%), Nestle India Ltd. (down 0.89%), Jyothy Labs Ltd. (down 0.84%) and JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd. (down 0.62%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended the day down 8.5 points at 24,315.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 27.43 points at 79,897.34.

Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (up 2.22%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (up 2.09%), Coal India Ltd. (up 1.9%), ITC Ltd. (up 1.6%), Tata Motors Ltd. (up 1.53%), State Bank of India (up 0.91%), Asian Paints Ltd. (up 0.86%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (up 0.81%), Titan Company Ltd. (up 0.74%) and LTIMindtree Ltd. (up 0.59%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (down 1.69%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (down 1.49%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (down 1.25%), Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (down 1.18%), NTPC Ltd. (down 1.13%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (down 1.06%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (down 0.94%), Nestle India Ltd. (down 0.89%), Shriram Finance Ltd. (down 0.84%) and Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (down 0.8%) ended in the red.
