Sioux Falls Rotary South raises polio awareness

HARRISBURG, SD (Dakota News Now) – Rotary South members from Sioux Falls came together with the Harrisburg community at Lake Ole Park to raise awareness about polio as this week marks World Polio Day.

On Tuesday, the group held its second annual “A Short Walk to End Polio Now” activity to raise funds for the cause to support a polio-free future for everyone around the world.

“We don’t think about polio every day, but it’s very important because as long as there are cases on the planet, it can reappear and affect anyone in any country,” Sarah said. Sinnott, a member of Rotary South of Sioux Falls.

Rotary International has provided more than three billion vaccines worldwide and contributed more than $2.7 billion to this effort.
