Dyson has launched its first high-fidelity headphones, the Dyson OnTrac. The Singaporean technology company, known for its home appliances, is offering customization options for its first audio-only headphones with interchangeable ear tips and cushions for a more personalized experience.

“With over 30 years of experience in aeroacoustics, we have mastered the physics of sound. By reducing noise with internal anechoic chambers and expert engineers, we applied and extended our knowledge of sound to develop the Dyson OnTrac headphones,” said Jake Dyson, Chief Engineer.

Dyson OnTrac Headphones: Details

The Dyson OnTrac headphones use custom Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) algorithms, which the company says use eight microphones on the device to sample external sound 384,000 times per second. This allows the OnTrac headphones to offer up to 40 dB of noise reduction. The headphones also have 40mm, 16-ohm neodymium speaker drivers to produce frequencies from 6 Hz to 21,000 Hz.

In terms of battery life, Dyson said the headphones are powered by two lithium-ion batteries that provide up to 55 hours of playback on a single charge with ANC turned on.

The headphones offer smartphone connectivity via the MyDyson app, which also offers features like a real-time soundtrack that monitors the volume in and out of your ear. The app also has three custom EQ modes for the headphones: Bass Boost, Neutral, and Enhanced.

Dyson OnTrac Headphones: Availability and Colors

Dyson OnTrac headphones will soon be available in India in four colour options – CNC Aluminium, CNC Copper, CNC Nickel and Ceramic Cinnabar. The headphones will also be available in over 2,000 customisable colour combinations for the outer shells and ear cushions.
