Gemini Live is now free to everyone

Google Gemini Live is now available for free to anyone using the Google Gemini app in English, the company announced on Monday.

Gemini Live was originally unveiled at the Pixel 9 event, but was originally only available on Pixel 9 devices and required an advanced Gemini subscription. The company started rolling out the feature to some Android users in September, and it should now be available to all users.

Gemini Live is a voice chat feature for Google’s Gemini smart assistant that allows users to talk to Gemini for as long as they want. It offers many different voice options and is better at handling real-world conversation features such as pauses and breaks. It also preserves context, which means it remembers previous interactions, making subsequent conversations more meaningful.

The Google Gemini app is currently only available on Android. However, it is possible that one day it will also come to Apple’s iOS. Apple’s Craig Federighi hinted at the possibility in June, saying Gemini “maybe” coming to iOS in the future along with other AI models.
