ED probes massive CISF pension fraud involving 60 Lakhs | Hyderabad News

ED launches probe into CISF pension fraud case

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad unit of the Enforcement Directorate has issued an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) and initiated an investigation. money laundering investigation in a pension fraud involving CISF personnel where around 60 lakh were allegedly siphoned off.
Fraud involves New pension plan (NPS) of CISF staff managed by Check Drawing and Disbursement Officer (CDDO) under National Industrial Security Academy (NISA). The ED probe is based on the FIR recorded by Jawaharnagar Police on April 18 last year following a complaint filed by CISF inspector Sreerama Krishna of NISA at Hakimpet, Shamirpet mandal, Medchal-Malkajgiri district.
An internal investigation revealed that Roop Singh Meena, a head constable and clerk at NISA, was allegedly involved in fraud along with others during his engagement at NISA. The Jawaharnagar police have registered a case of cheating and criminal breach of trust against the accused.
“We have decided to identify the money trail. The accused has been interrogated and we are working to recover the pension amounts lost by the jawans,” an ED official said.
