A meeting for Jackson residents interested in getting information about flying drones is being held at Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport.

On Monday, the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority announced that a free “community drone awareness session” would be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15.

“In partnership with the Federal Aviation Administration, this free event is designed to provide important information to current and future drone operators about the regulations and restrictions governing drone use near and around airports,” the press release states. .

Topics covered by the awareness session include:

  • Safe practices for using drones near airports.
