Hope in the Street raises $44,000 at its annual event

The 10th annual edition of Hope in the Street raised $43,600.

The street festival focused on music and food took place at the Spring Mill Distillery, 43 Arthur Street, on September 20.

Money raised from the event goes to Hope House, a nonprofit organization providing programs and services aimed at combating poverty.

Musical groups like Guelph and Elora-based You Might Be Sleeping and fun family-friendly music with Mr. J and the Groovy Gang were performed at the festival. Guelph businesses like Laza and Vietnamese family restaurant The Nguyen sold food to festival-goers.

Hope House thanked sponsors, volunteers and everyone who came to the event through its email newsletter.
