On Tuesday at 2:42 p.m., a frost watch was issued by the National Weather Service effective for Thursday between 2:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. for Luzerne County.

The weather service comments: “Temperatures below 0°C can drop to 31 degrees”.

“Freezing and freezing conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing,” the weather service comments. “Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.”
