Woodside Energy Meg O’Neill has praised the Western Australian Government for handing responsibility for controlling greenhouse gas emissions to the Federal Government, urging other states and territories to do the same.

The Washington government this week stripped its Environmental Protection Agency of the ability to assess emissions from major projects, citing constitutional legal guidance that it said made state powers redundant after the Albanian government legislated its so-called safeguard mechanism last year.
