Former Fort Moore employee pleads guilty to possession of child pornography

FORT MOORE, Ga. (WTVM) – A former Fort Moore employee has pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography on his phone.

According to court documents and declarations, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received a Cybertip on July 17, 2022 from the social media platform platform.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) discovered that Taylor was the user and was employed at Fort Moore. Taylor was located and he admitted to officers that he had downloaded images of child pornography from X.

Officers found several files containing child sexual abuse material on his phone. Taylor estimated he had about 50 videos of children engaging in sexual acts on his device.

Terric Taylor, 37, of Fortson, faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, followed by at least five years to lifetime supervised release and a $250,000 fine plus possible restitution to be determined by the court.

Taylor will have to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.

Sentencing is scheduled for January 28, 2025.
