    One Direction fans have paid heartbreaking tributes as they discovered the group’s final message together following the death of Liam Payne. Fans are devastated after the singer’s death at the age of 31.

    The musician died after falling from the third floor of a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, local officials told Argentine media. Local police said the singer fell from the third floor into the courtyard of the Casa Sur hotel in the Palermo district of the Argentine capital before doctors confirmed his death.

    Liam rose to fame in 2010 when One Direction was formed on the X Factor. The pop boyband enjoyed worldwide success before disbanding in 2016.

    One Direction’s official Instagram account has 22.6 million followers and shared its latest post to mark the band’s 10th anniversary in 2020. The latest photo featured a shared photo of Liam, alongside bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik.

    The post was captioned: “So many memories. Thanks for celebrating with us! Directioners forever.” Devastated fans took to the comments to pay tribute following Liam’s death last night.

    Tributes are pouring in from around the world as people share heartfelt messages following the death of Liam Payne. Alberto Crescenti, head of the state’s emergency medical system, told Argentine television channel Todo Noticias that Payne fell in a courtyard at the Casa Sur hotel and refused to answer further questions about the ‘incident.

    Police responded to an emergency call from the hotel manager who was concerned about his well-being, AP reported. Argentinian media reported that Payne was in Buenos Aires to attend the concert of his former One Direction bandmate Niall Horan.

    The Foreign Office (FCDO) has confirmed it is in contact with Argentine authorities “in relation to reports of the death of a British man”. But an FCDO spokesperson declined to comment further, including on the identity of the man involved.
