Sainsbury’s has issued a recall for its onion rings due to unlisted allergens. The chips contain milk, soy and wheat (gluten), which are not declared on the package.

This makes the product potentially harmful to anyone with an allergy to soy or an intolerance to milk or milk components. It is also not recommended for people allergic or intolerant to wheat or gluten.

Sainsbury’s has advised customers who bought the crisps to return them.

In a statement, Sainsbury’s said: “We are asking customers who have purchased the above products not to consume them and return them to their nearest Sainsbury’s store, where they will receive a full refund.”

They added: “For any concerns or questions or if you are unable to reach a store, please visit our website Sainsbury’s.co.uk/help.”

The supermarket chain confirmed that no other products were affected by this problem and apologized for any inconvenience caused, reports the Express.

On a related note, Aldi has recalled The Fishmonger Soy and Ginger Fusions tuna because it contains wheat (gluten) which is not mentioned on the label. This could pose a health risk to anyone with celiac disease and/or an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten.

Aldi asked customers to return the product to their nearest store and apologized for the inconvenience caused.
