Most obituaries published in the Reading Eagle are submitted through funeral homes and cremation services, but we will accept submissions from families. Obituaries can be emailed to [email protected].

In addition to the obituary text, any photographs you wish to include can be attached to this email. Please put the obituary text in a Word document, Google Doc or in the body of the email. The Reading Eagle also requires a way to verify the death, so please include either the phone number of the funeral home or cremation service that is in charge of the deceased’s care or a photo of their death certificate. We also ask that your full name, telephone number, and address are all included in this email.

All family payments must be made by credit card. We will send proof of the completed obituary before requiring payment. However, the obituary cannot be published until we have received full payment.

Obituaries can be submitted for any later date, but must be received by 3 p.m. the day before they are broadcast in order for them to be published.
