Tournament raises over $10,000 for therapy horses

More than 60 golfers participated in a tournament to benefit therapy horses on October 4.

“The tournament raised more than $10,000. This makes it PRANCE’s largest fundraiser of the year,” said Ann Marie Johnston, executive director of PRANCE, in a press release. “There is no doubt that this was an incredible event and we can’t wait to host it again next year! »

Themed Horse Power on the Greens, it was the first ever charity golf tournament organized by the therapeutic equestrian center.

Held in Port Elgin at the Club at Westlinks, the day included a 12-hole round of golf, a local produce harvest dinner and a silent auction, all made possible with the support of Saugeen Shores and Kincardine area sponsors .

“I am so touched by the generosity of this community and their willingness to step up,” Lori Kohl, chair of the golf committee, said in the release. “We are very grateful. A big thank you to every business and individual who helped us.

As an independent registered charity, PRANCE has been supporting people with special needs through the power of horses for over 30 years, including serving many clients in the Kincardine area.
