Search for missing Raleigh man continues for days in eastern Wake County :: WRAL.com

Zebulon police are working to find a missing man and are asking the public for help.

Kareem Shabazz was last seen on Tuesday, October 15 around 2 p.m. Officers said Shabazz was performing auto maintenance work in the Weaver’s Pond Townhomes community.

Police said Shabazz left on foot and was last seen heading toward Walmart. On Saturday, his family was in the neighborhood, going door to door, as any sign of the father, brother and friend reportedly disappeared without a trace.

Her sister, Faatimah Shabazz-Lanier, is worried and hopes for a good outcome.

“I don’t know if he’s hurt, I don’t know if someone took him or something,” she said.

Shabazz’s phone has not been reachable since Tuesday. Police have been searching for Shabazz since Wednesday. Officers from Knightdale and Wendell are assisting in the search.

Shabazz lives in Raleigh and was in Zebulon Tuesday for work. He left behind his car, his equipment and his wallet. In the five days since his disappearance, the search for Shabazz has included more than just friends and family.

Officers from multiple agencies, including the SBI and the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, are involved.

“This is a 120-acre search by all these different agencies,” said Kaleb Harmon with the town of Zebulon.

Police are asking area residents to check their security footage from Tuesday afternoon to see if they spot Shabazz on video.
