The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a warning of potential weather disruptions in parts of the country, but citizens have welcomed the news.

With many parts of the country experiencing droughts or prolonged water cuts, South Africans are eager for relief.

Many took to social media to thank the weather gods following the latest warning.

Weather warning issued for parts of South Africa

SAWS has issued a weather warning for parts of the country to prepare for disruptive weather conditions over the coming days.

According to SAWS, parts of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), Free State and Mpumalanga are expected to experience severe thunderstorms.

Disruptive rain, which could cause localized flooding, is also forecast in parts of the Eastern Cape, spreading towards KZN.

In a press release, SAWS noted that the weather was relatively calm, but not for long.

“This is about to change with the arrival of a cutting low pressure system, which will affect the southern, central and eastern provinces from Sunday October 20 to Tuesday October 22.

Citizens celebrate the prospect of rain

Social media users are looking forward to rainfall despite the threat of bad weather.

Severe thunderstorms expected in KZN

In a related article, SAWS warned that severe thunderstorms and rain are expected in KZN and other parts of the country.

In brief News reported that a Level 4 yellow warning was issued in September, with residents warned of potential flooding.

Some South Africans blame the weather on geoengineering, while others have expressed concern over the downpours.
