Police are searching for a missing person after a couple suspected of paddleboarding fell into a reservoir.

Emergency services rescued one person who entered the water at around 2.30pm BST at Dovestone Reservoir, near Oldham, and were still searching for the second, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.

The person rescued from the water was being treated by paramedics, law enforcement said.

The coast guard and mountain rescue services are among those involved in search and rescue operations. GMP urged people to avoid the area.
