Waffles sold at Walmart and Target recalled for possible listeria contamination: list of affected products

TreeHouse Foodsthe leading maker of frozen waffles for Walmart, Target and other major grocery stores, has issued a voluntary recall alert customers to products potentially contaminated with listeria.

According to official company information, more than 500 varieties of frozen waffles produced by TreeHouse Foods and sold in department stores, including Walmart’s Great Value and Target’s Good & Gather, have been recalled in recent days because they may be contaminated with listeria bacteria.

In healthy people, short-term symptoms of listeria infection range from high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. In pregnant women, it can cause miscarriages and stillbirths. Listeria can also cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the frail or elderly, and others with weakened immune systems, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

The recalled products were sold in the United States and Canada in various grocery stores, including Aldi (Best breakfast brand), Dollar General (Clover Valley brand), Food Lion, Giant Eagle, Hannaford, Harris Teeter, HEB, PriceChopper (PICS brand), Publix, Schnucks, Southeastern Grocers, Target (Good & Gather brand), Tops and Walmart (Great Value brand). Foodhold, Kodiak cakes and Simple Truth branded waffles may also be contaminated.

If you purchased a variety of frozen waffles from the brands or stores listed above, check the official list of affected products Tree House food, where you can find out if you have any, according to their brand, batch number and expiration date.

At that time, TreeHouse Foods has not been informed of any cases of illness linked to its products. However, consumers are urged to check their freezers for any packaging containing the recalled waffles and discard them or return them to the place of purchase for another product or a refund.
