    Strictly Come Dancing’s Dr Punam Krishan posted a grateful update as she progressed to the next round. The 41-year-old is partnered with Gorka Marquez for this season of the BBC competition.

    Morning Live’s resident doctor danced a Viennese waltz in the latest episode of She’s Always A Woman to Me. Dr Punam was voted through to the next round as Paul Merson and JB Gill had to take part in the dance competition.

    She took to Instagram after the show and thanked fans for their vote. She said: “Saturday night was magical. I felt like Belle in this beautiful dress and as you can see in the 5th video, I literally couldn’t stop twirling everywhere. I was going. I felt like a little girl in a little dream.

    She added: “I want to say a most sincere THANK YOU to each and every one of you who voted for us. I read every post, I see the stories you share, the comments you leave – your love and your support means so much to me. You’ve helped me through Halloween week – I’m so grateful and so excited.

    Dr. Punam was frank in admitting that it was difficult to learn the Viennese waltz. She said: “Last week wasn’t my best dance but I managed to find a way to contain my nervousness, grow from the experience and worked very hard to understand and learn this dance so to present it in front of millions of people I did my best, I gave it my all and as every photo here shows, I was in the moment.

    “Thanks to @gorka_marquez for teaching me this awesome Viennese Waltz routine. I have to be honest, it didn’t come easily to me but when it finally clicked, my God, I loved it!”

    However, Dr Punam is loving the Strictly challenge and doesn’t want his time in the competition to end just yet. She added: “This little chapter of my life, this fun, surreal chapter really transports me to another world every Saturday and I love it so much. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still scary but I am. I I’m proud of myself for going out there and trying everything.”

    However, Dr Punam might not get her wish as bookmakers believe she is the favorite to be eliminated next. The TV Doctor is the 9/4 favorite to be next out.

    Lee Astley, spokesperson for betideas.comsaid: “This year’s series of Strictly is in full swing with just 11 contestants remaining and we make Punam Krishan the 9/4 favorite to be the fifth celebrity to leave the show.

    “Sam Quek is second favorite in the market at 9/2 and Shayne Ward is a little longer at 11/2 having already survived a dance this year. JB Gill was the winner over the late Merson in the dance of last week and he’s 8/1 to be eliminated this week.
