Trump Violates Food Safety Rules at McDonald’s, One Week After Restaurant Fails Health Inspection

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump made headlines Sunday when he briefly went behind the McDonald’s restaurant fry station and served takeout meals to citizens in the drive-thru lane at Feasterville-Trevose, in Bucks County.

However, Trump – who calls himself a germophobe – was quickly criticized for not wearing gloves or a hairnet and only an apron over his shirt, while claiming his hands were “nice and clean”.

According to the report, Trump went to work at the restaurant without washing his hands.

This McDonald’s restaurant had recently failed its health inspection and the Bucks County Department of Health pointed to employees not having “clean and properly washed hands” as the main reason for the failure.

“Food workers do not wash their hands as required before putting on gloves, after handling dirty dishes, after handling raw meat, before handling clean dishes, equipment and utensils” , the county inspector said in the report.

“Employees observed handling raw beef with gloves, then changing gloves without washing their hands in between,” it adds.

The inspector further noted that workers “did not wear hair ties as required, which includes management assisting in packaging and preparing food.”

“Employees must wear hair ties such as hats, hair coverings or hairnets that are effectively designed and worn to prevent their hair from coming into contact with exposed food; equipment, utensils and linens clean as well as unpackaged single-use and single-use items,” the report said.

Trump faces backlash on social media

Some social media users criticized Trump for not wearing hair ties or gloves.

“My problem with the McDonald’s/Trump theatrics… They closed the store. People lost their pay for a guy who doesn’t believe in paying overtime over his hourly wage. He wasn’t wearing gloves to handle food,” said Tonya McKenzie, a public relations expert.

“Looking at the photos of Trump ‘working’ at McDonald’s makes me want to scream. Multiple food safety violations including no hair net and no gloves. It’s disgusting,” commented Lynn Marchitelli .

“Trump uses his bare hands to handle food, without gloves. Violation of health and safety code,” said @CHERRYW00609336.

Some social media users even called Trump’s visit to McDonald’s “fake” and “staged.”

Journalist and lawyer Seth Abramson wrote on … The McDonald’s was closed, the customers were fake, Trump did nothing. “

“It worked…they closed McDonald’s for the Trump clown show…it was all staged, like everything they do,” one user commented.
