Precautionary boil water advisory issued for some Vernon residents – Vernon News

Boil water advisory in Vernon

A water main break has resulted in a precautionary boil water advisory from the Regional District of North Okanagan.

Greater Vernon Water customers along Pottery Road between 15th and 18th Streets as well as 18th Avenue west of 15th Street are under a boil water advisory until the Sampling confirms that drinking water is safe.

A main break caused a loss of water pressure and increased turbidity for some customers in the affected area. The district is flushing the area and sampling the water to ensure the safety of the system.

Residents may experience reduced water pressure, water discoloration and/or air in their water and are advised to turn on a cold water faucet until the water runs clear . An outdoor faucet is preferable.

The level of service and treatment provided by the RDNO has been maintained, but customers in the affected area must boil their water for at least one minute when preparing food, drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, preparing drinks or ice or brush your teeth.
