CENTRAL COUNTY, PA — Health care workers took part in a “Battle of the Minds” trivia game in Center County – testing their mental prowess while raising money for health services.

The Volunteer Medicine Center – a free local healthcare clinic – tested participants’ knowledge during the fundraising event Monday evening.

The fundraiser supports health services for uninsured and underinsured people in Center County who need care. The clinic provides health care, dental care and medications to county residents and workers.

Paula Williams, executive director of the CVIM, said this fundraiser is necessary to support the community.

“The funds raised are essential to ensure we can continue to provide health services to people who might otherwise go without them,” she said.

The event also included a silent auction, open for bidding until October 27.

“It’s fun,” she said. “This competitive nature is coming through and people are enjoying the opportunity to interact and challenge themselves, all while raising money for a very good cause. All funds raised tonight will help CVIM.”
