Detroit drug lord sentenced to prison for drug trafficking in Hawaii

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A 42-year-old Detroit man was sentenced to prison Monday on drug charges in Hawaii as part of a 2019-2021 drug trafficking operation.

Gabriel Antone Eberhardt was sentenced to 30 years in prison. He also received five years of supervised release.

Eberhardt pleaded guilty to distributing fentanyl, heroin and methamphetamine that he sent from Philadelphia and Los Angeles.

He also admitted to shooting someone during a drug deal in 2019.

According to court records, Eberhardt – also known as “Stacks” – co-led a drug trafficking organization in Honolulu from October 2019 to June 30, 2021 that distributed fentanyl in mixtures with heroin and in counterfeit oxycodone tablets.

Undercover agents arrested Eberhardt after closing dozens of drug deals through his criminal network.

Law enforcement officers seized 6.5 kilograms of fentanyl, 6.4 kilograms of heroin, 2.8 kilograms of methamphetamine, seven firearms, including assault rifles and semi-automatic pistols, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, a vehicle and more than $250,000 in drug proceeds in cash.

Ten Eberhardt associates have also been prosecuted and five are awaiting sentencing.

The following conspirators were prosecuted in the District of Hawaii:

  • Jared Northern, 25, of Honolulu
    • Also known as “White Boy Jay” or “Gage”, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and two counts of distribution of controlled substances and, on May 15, 2024, was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison and to five years of supervised release.
  • Zakiyyah Mareus, 27, of Miami Garden, Florida
    • Also known as “Kai”, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and on August 8, 2024, was sentenced to 37 months in federal prison and three years of supervised release.
  • Isaiah Marks, 25, of Honolulu
    • Also known as “Seh”, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and two counts of distribution of controlled substances and, on January 18, 2023, was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison and four years of supervised release .
  • Tishanah Iwalani Kaio-Barrozo, 33, of Honolulu
    • Pleaded guilty to distribution of controlled substances and on June 7, 2022, was sentenced to nine months in federal prison and three years of supervised release.
  • Michael Garrett, 41, of Romulus, Michigan
    • Also known as “Sideburns” or “Burns”, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and on March 28, 2024, was sentenced to three months in federal prison and five years of supervised release.
  • Jennifer Ashcraft, 33, Honolulu
    • Also known as “Jessie” or “Jess”, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and is scheduled to be sentenced on November 22, 2024.
  • Martzes Junior, 43, of Southfield, Michigan
    • Also known as “Green”, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and possession of a firearm in connection with a drug trafficking crime and is scheduled for sentencing on November 26, 2024.
  • Lynden David Lightburn, 51, of Los Angeles
    • Also known as “Soulja”, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and is scheduled for sentencing on December 6, 2024;
  • Jason Darnell Smith, 41, of Detroit, Michigan,
    • Also known as “Famous” or “Sweets”, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy and is scheduled to be sentenced on December 9, 2024.
  • Robert Adams, 37, of Philadelphia,
    • Also known as “Tre”, “Tre Block”, “Block”, “TBlock” or “Ray Smith”, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and is scheduled to be sentenced on February 26, 2025.

Multiple agencies were involved in the drug case, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the United States Postal Inspection Service and the Honolulu Police Department.
