Authorities search for missing Lake Co woman.

Lake County authorities are searching for Danette Tenas, 54, of Ronan.

Tenas has not had any news since October 8.

The following was sent by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office:

On October 14, 2024, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report that Danette Tenas, 54, of Ronan, had not heard from friends or family since October 8, 2024. Staff Lake County Sheriff’s Office and tribal police officers were able to determine that his last confirmed location was in a recreational area near Buffalo Bridge on October 8. Danette was with friends in this area and became separated from them after a breakdown occurred on a vehicle they were driving. The friends she was with attempted to locate her, but ultimately assumed she had gotten a ride from other friends or people in the area, as this would not be unusual for Danette. Danette is not known for carrying or owning a cell phone.

Search efforts were focused in the Buffalo Bridge area and were led by Lake County Search and Rescue with assistance from the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes as well as Flathead County Search and Rescue. Danette was last known as wearing a denim jacket over a white shirt, denim shorts and sandals with white soles and a sparkly sequin top. She is approximately 5’8″ tall and weighs 140 lbs. She has dark brown hair and hazel eyes.

Photos of Danette are attached. One was obtained from security footage from a local business and shows how she was dressed the last day she was seen. The other is a photo of her from April this year.

Although she generally lives in Ronan, she is known to be somewhat transient throughout Mission Valley. If you know the whereabouts of Ms. Tenas, please contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at 406-883-7301.
