Crews continue search for missing Lake County woman

POLSON β€” Crews continue to search for a woman who was reported missing from Mission Valley.

Danette Tenas, 54, of Ronan, was reported missing on October 14 after not hearing from friends or family since October 8.

Lake County Sheriff Don Bell said law enforcement was able to determine its last confirmed location was in a recreational area near Buffalo Bridge on Oct. 8.

Danette was with friends in this area and found herself separated from them when a vehicle broke down.

The friends tried to track her down and then assumed she had gotten a ride from other friends or people in the area, with Sheriff Bell adding it would not be unusual for Danette to do that. She is not known to carry or possess a cell phone.

Lake County Search and Rescue, with assistance from the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and Flathead County Search and Rescue, focused search efforts in the Buffalo Bridge area.

Danette is approximately 5’8″ tall and weighs 140 pounds, with dark brown hair and hazel eyes. She was last wearing a denim jacket over a white shirt, denim shorts and white soled sandals and a top with sparkling sequins.
