Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. Financial Results Fall in Third Quarter, But Beat Estimates

WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) – Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. (ODFL) reported third-quarter profit down from a year ago but above Street estimates.

The company’s net income was $308.58 million, or $1.43 per share. That compares to $339.29 million, or $1.54 per share, in the third quarter of last year.

Analysts on average expected a profit of $1.42 per share, according to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analyst estimates generally exclude special items.

The company’s revenue for the quarter fell 3.0% to $1.470 billion from $1.515 billion last year.
