Patriots lost 2 offensive weapons in Wednesday’s practice ahead of Jets game – Boston Herald

FOXBORO — The Patriots were missing two offensive starters and four total players during Wednesday’s practice, their first before kickoff against the Jets this weekend.

Running back Rhamondre Stevenson, receiver Ja’Lynn Polk, offensive guard Layden Robinson and linebacker Curtis Jacobs were all out. Stevenson returned from a one-game absence to play in last Sunday’s loss to Jacksonville after injuring his foot two weeks ago against the Dolphins. Polk suffered a head injury against the Jaguars and is in the concussion protocol. Robinson left that game with what he told the Herald was a mild ankle sprain.

Jacobs, a rookie on the 53-man roster, played primarily on special teams. The Patriots also fielded a new linebacker in Kewshawn Banks, who recently spent time with the Packers and in the USFL. Banks may have filled the open practice squad spot that became available after the team released long snapper Tucker Addington on Tuesday.

The Pats will release their first injury report of the week Wednesday evening.
