Iran joins Belt and Road Energy Partnership

Iran has become the 34th country to become a member of the Belt and Road Energy Partnership (BREP), announced by the China National Energy Administration at the third Belt and Road Energy Ministerial Conference on Wednesday. and Road held in Qingdao, Shandong province.

Initiated by the Chinese NEA, BREP helps countries formulate more ambitious green energy development plans, based on their own energy endowments and development needs, to continually improve the reliability and resilience of energy supplies green.

In an interview with China Daily, Iranian Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi expressed hope that BREP will have a positive impact on global energy cooperation and promote global development through innovative approaches.

“Such a collaborative platform to promote cooperation between different countries is beneficial for all parties. I am very happy about initiatives like China’s, where different countries can raise their issues on this platform and work together to resolve them,” he said.

“China provides an excellent example of energy transition, with significant developments in renewable energy that have made a substantial contribution to global efforts to reduce carbon emissions,” he said.
