GMB’s Susanna Reid bids farewell to her co-star as she takes a break from the series | Television and radio | Showbiz and television

Good Morning Britain’s Richard Arnold has revealed his co-star Susanna Reid will be taking a brief break from hosting duties.

During her visit to the ITV studios on Thursday (October 24), the brunette beauty woke up the nation alongside her co-host Richard Madeley.

The dynamic duo discussed some of the biggest stories to hit the headlines, including the upcoming ban on disposable vapes in 2025 and the launch of the Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal.

Towards the end of the show, the duo welcomed the 54-year-old entertainment presenter onto the show to share the latest news from the world of showbiz.

But at the start of his segment, he explained that the mother of three would be taking a break from the studio to enjoy some much-needed downtime with her family.

Richard asked, “Alright Dickie, tell us, what’s wrong with you?” as the broadcaster teased: “Oh, a bit of Tom Hardy, it’s not bad news because I’m sending you, that’s why I’m at the end of the show to make sure you go really.”

Susanna immediately burst into laughter at her co-star’s cheeky comment before he continued his Hollywood segment.

It is currently unclear who will replace Susanna on the breakfast show during her family getaway. Elsewhere on GMB, Richard Madeley criticized Labor for its controversial early prison release program.

On Wednesday October 23, more than 1,000 convicts were released from prisons across the country in a bid to ease the UK’s overpopulation crisis.

Presenters welcomed abuse survivor Elizabeth Hudson onto the show to share her struggles with the new program.

The activist’s ex-husband, Martin Underwood, was sentenced to six years in prison after beating and injuring her and holding a knife to her face. He also abused several of his former partners before being put behind bars.

Earlier this week, she was told her abusive ex-husband could be eligible for early release in December under the new program. Fortunately, this decision was overturned, but he was warned that he could be released in June.

Richard suggested “the minister doesn’t understand her own politics” when questioning Elizabeth about changing Martin’s release date. The controversial project sparked debate on X – formerly known as Twitter – as fans shared their opinions online.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 or catch up on ITVX.
