These 30 Countries Let You Use Your SA Driving License

Do you have a South African driving license and live abroad? We have a list of 30 countries where you can legally drive with your SA license.

Big changes for driving licenses in South Africa.
Jacques Stander

Moving or traveling abroad is both a daunting and exciting task and driving while you’re there is not a priority.

Although these countries allow you to drive within their borders, conditions vary by region.

While some countries allow you to drive until your license expires, others only allow you to use your SA license for a few months.

Even with this permission, it is still imperative to obtain your International Driving Permit (IDP) if you are traveling out of the country and plan to drive, according to BusinessTech.

This license has many advantages, including the translation of your license into several international languages, which comes in handy if you are approached by police officers or are unfortunately involved in an accident.

The IDP can be obtained from the Automobile Association of South Africa via an application on their website or in person from a sales agent.
