UAE: Fines totaling Dh855,000 imposed on “offending” telemarketers – News

In a bid to reduce spam calls, UAE authorities have imposed heavy fines on people making such phone calls. The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority imposed administrative fines amounting to Dh855,000.

The authority, in a statement on implementation of the decision.

According to the law, if a person makes a marketing phone call for products and services through a licensed phone number in their name, a fine of Dh5,000 will be imposed. All landline or mobile telephone numbers registered in his name will also be disconnected until payment, in the event of a first offense.






The crackdown aims to protect UAE residents from deceptive and intrusive telemarketing calls as the country introduced new regulations in August 2024.
