TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Tucson Police Department is looking for the driver of a vehicle they say hit a woman riding a bicycle and then left the scene.

TPD says the accident happened early on Saturday, October 12, around 3:30 a.m., in the area of ​​Rosemont and Speedway.

Detectives learned that Julie Billeter, 53, was riding her bike east on Speedway Boulevard in the bike path when she turned in front of a vehicle that was also heading east.

TPD says the vehicle collided with her from behind and then left the scene of the accident.

Billeter was taken to the hospital where she died from her injuries.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about this collision to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
