Justice Lawrence Mugambi has referred the case challenging the impeachment of Vice President Rigathi Gachagua to Chief Justice Martha Koome to constitute a bench that will hear and decide the matter.

In his ruling on Friday morning, Justice Mugambi said the application raised serious constitutional questions which required the constitution of a tribunal to hear the matter.
