Search warrant leads to arrest in Glasgow

GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO) – A man was arrested after the Glasgow Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence Thursday.

The warrant was executed at the home on Bethel Church Road, according to a news release. Police were looking for stolen property and firearms.

Police said they observed Eric Wells, 50, of Glasgow, discarding a plastic bag allegedly containing methamphetamine, marijuana and hydrocodone pills. The search also revealed a handgun and a digital scale.

Wells was arrested on the following charges:

  • First degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (two grams or more of methamphetamine) (enrichment)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of a handgun by a convicted felon
  • Possession of marijuana
  • First degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (less than 10 unspecified opiates) (enhancement)

The arrest was made by Detective Sgt. Aaron Cowan, assisted by Detective Andrew Moore, Detective Brian Starnes, and BCSO Deputy Tyler Maxey.

Wells is being held at the Barren County Detention Center on $20,000 cash bail.
