With just four months to go before the next Assembly elections, the Delhi cabinet on Thursday increased the Members of Parliament Local Development Fund (MLALAD) from Rs 10 crore, already the highest in the country, to Rs 15 crore per annum for each of its 70 deputies.



With a budget allocation of Rs 1,050 crore, Delhi’s expenditure on its MLALAD will be the fourth largest in the country, surpassing Rajasthan, which allocates Rs 5 crore to each of its 200 legislators, totaling Rs 1,000 crore every year.
