    New Delhi: Incessant rains have wreaked havoc in Chennai. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MP Stalin on Tuesday announced holidays for schools and colleges in four districts. The government also issued a work from home advisory for these regions from October 15 to 18.

    The meteorological department had also earlier issued a red alert for many areas in Chennai.

    According to the weather department, rainfall of up to 20 cm in a single day is expected during the monsoon.
