Search underway for escaped southern Colorado inmate

CANON CITY, Colo. (KKTV) – An inmate is on the run after escaping from a Fremont County jail.

The Colorado Department of Corrections reported the escape of Leaf Glimpse, 34, Monday morning.

“Upon discovery of the escape, the Canon City search team was immediately activated and the Office of the Inspector General is investigating the incident. The police have been notified and a search is currently underway,” said a press release.

Glimpse escaped from Arrowhead Correctional Center in the East Canon complex, where he was serving an eight-year sentence for burglary. Glimpse was considered a minimally restrictive inmate.

Glimpse is a white male, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 185 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing green DOC-issued pants, a white t-shirt and black boots. The boots are said to have a beige sole.

“If you see the inmate, do not try to approach him. Call 9-1-1 to notify law enforcement,” the DOC said.
