Prague bans pub crawls organized by tourist agencies

The city of Prague has banned bar crawls, these night crawls organized by specialized agencies. The new regulation, approved Monday by municipal councilors, will come into force as soon as it is published. The ban, requested mainly by the town hall in central Prague, aims to remedy noise pollution caused by intoxicated tourists. The decision was taken after consultation with various stakeholders, including tourism officials and professional guides, who will still be allowed to operate from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The regulation cites the negative impact of bar crawls on public order, increased noise and pressure on city services.
